"My career has spanned being a Fortune 500 marketer, serial entrepreneur, entrepreneurship author, and faculty in digital marketing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison MBA Program and teaching and managing the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Entrepreneurship Program.
My life's mission now is to help other educators build future innovators and entrepreneurs worldwide.
In 2020, I started a firm providing cutting-edge digital marketing curricula to high schools. We conducted a pilot with over 800 students across the U.S. and Canada, providing dynamic digital marketing curricula based on engaging video instruction from subject matter experts we had curated.
The teachers loved that the course was always up-to-date, so they could focus on teaching and knew they never presented dated material. The students were engaged because they built real websites, company social presence, etc. Some secured internships and jobs and even launched companies with these new skills.
There were a particularly interesting group of high school teachers engaged in entrepreneurship. I spoke with them and I began comparing the opportunities afforded by entrepreneurship educators at the college level. There was a significant disparity with the high school level.
The high school teachers themselves had unfulfilled needs. They told us they wanted to connect with other teachers from around the world, network, to meet new people. And have more fun in their work.
They wanted helpful teaching resources that they could quickly download or videos of real-world experts they could use in their classes.
They wanted to be inspired and motivated and get insights from live events without traveling to see them.
They wanted a student pitch competition that could be done online so students could participate regardless of where they lived or their family income.
They said that students, more than ever before, cared about social good, taking care of the environment and other people.
So, we are committed to providing an international, virtual, fun organization dedicated to helping high school teachers build future innovators and entrepreneurs.
